Some Great Steve Jobs Moments

Steve Jobs was a visionary, a great entrepreneur and a showmen. I never actually met him but did have the privilege of seeing him speak twice.
For someone I have never met he had a profound effect on my life.
Below are some of my favourite “Steve Jobs” moments.
• Steve Jobs hosting the “Macintosh Software Dating Game”
In 1983, Apple was trying to get software developers excited about the new Mac platform and a new way of working with computers. The video link below shows highlights of an Apple event in which Steve Jobs plays the part of The Dating Game host , asking questions about software development to three software magnates — Fred Gibbons of Software Publishing Company, Mitch Kapor of Lotus Development, and some guy named Bill Gates from Microsoft.

• Steve Jobs giving the eulogy for Mac OS 9
At the Worldwide Developers Conference in 2002, Steve Jobs staged a mock funeral for the out-of-date Mac OS 9 operating system. The stage was brightly lit, giving it a “heavenly” feel, and a church interior with stained-glass windows was projected onto a huge backdrop. Fog billowed from smoke machines, while a black casket rose from a trap door. As Bach’s organ dirge Toccata and Fugue faded, Jobs — dressed in a purposely out-of-place mock-turtleneck shirt and jeans — gave a humorous eulogy for the operating system.
