Mountain Lion: Temporarily Disable Notification Centre

By Richard Mallion
The Notification Centre is great. It’s the one iOS feature which I’m please to see in Mountain Lion, but there are times when I don’t want this feature enabled, especially when I am training.
Rather than heading off to System Preferences to disable notification centre, you can easily pause it by pressing the option key while clicking the Notification icon in the right hand side of the menu bar. To re-enable it, just click option again. From what I have read it seems to pause the notification centre until the next day.
