How to toggle "Do Not Disturb" for Notification Center

I have grown to like the Notification Center feature of OS X Mountain Lion. However, there are times when I am teaching and I want to disable Notifications temporarily. I might be demoing something on the projector at the time I receive a new email, Tweet or Facebook message which may not be appropriate during a demo! 🙂
I therefore find the “Do Not Disturb” feature rather handy, which can be very easily toggled simply by Option/Alt-clicking the Notification Center menu bar icon so that it is greyed out as shown below:

Option/Alt-clicking the Notification Center menu bar icon again will re-enable Notifications:

You can alternatively toggle “Do Not Disturb” by scrolling to the top of the Notification Center window, and toggle the slider to OFF:

Obviously sliding this to ON will re-enable Notifications:

I hope this little trick comes in handy for you too!
