Mac Too Old for AirPlay Mirroring in Mountain Lion? Here's an Alternative.

It appears that a portion of the Apple community is up in arms at the moment, over the disappointment that one of the most promising new features in OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, AirPlay Mirroring, is not available to all.
Despite a small footnote on the Apple website stating that only the iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer) are capable of using this feature, many users were not aware of this and are disappointed that they will not be able to use it.
However, there is an alternative: AirParrot.
Available from their website at airparrot.com, the third party app which supports both video and audio streaming, is available for $9.99. A 20 minute trial is also downloadable, for you to see whether it is a suitable replacement.
It supports up to 1080p (if used with a third generation Apple TV), can be used to mirror a specific app, your whole desktop, or even as a monitor extension.
With the disappointment being quite widespread in the Apple community, I can see AirParrot making quite a profit in the coming weeks.
